What is a synthesizer for? If, like us, you think that its very essence is forward-looking, creative sound synthesis, you will love Symptohm. It's not modelled after anything you are familiar with and, in combination with the incredible number of possibilities it offers, this is precisely what makes its strong.
For those who never go further than switching from preset to preset or can't stand the idea of digging into a complex machine to get the best out of it, Symptohm might not be the best choice. However, for those creatively-minded of you in line with the Ohm Force spirit, here is the sonic equivalent of a goldmine.
Features
New SyncGrain Synth Engine
Think of Symptohm as a granular synth/sample player. Its engine is made of 2 SyncGrain Oscillators (SGOs), mixed with a ring-modulatable sub oscillator and a noise generator. Each SGO uses a single looping audio sample as a waveform source, and can be stretched, pitch-shifted, and even played backwards.
Quad Frohmage Embedded
Symptohm's greatest strength is its ability to transform and modulate sound in a manner unheard-of before. Besides the innovative synth engine, it is perhaps the integration of Quad Frohmage's filter section which gives you this level of possibilities over forty parameters have their own LFOs and ADSR envelopes.
Not For The Faint Hearted
Forget about easy analogue sounding patch or ultra realistic emulation: the 1000+ featured presets can't suggest you even the slightest idea of the mind-blowing sounds you can achieve with Symptohm provided you take the time to read through the manual and are not afraid to explore new approaches to synthesis.
Melohman-able
Designed to support playability and expressive human feeling, the Melohman technology lets you take advantage of full MIDI compatibility to command preset changes via a hardware controller, in 1 among 7 different modes, with the possibility to customise morphing speed. Perfect for live.
Two skins, two paths to the Force
Ohm Force plugins come with two skins: the classic one gives you all the controls in a neat, old school analogue rack-like interface. It's a good point to start learning and get familiar with the plugin's capabilities. The other one, called 'funky', embodies the true spirit of Ohm Force.
