Millennia HV-3C Stereo Microphone Preamplifier

While the HV-3C employs identical mic preamp circuitry as the HV-3B, the HV-3C improves on the HV-3B in some respects. The HV-3C uses HV-3D micamp cards, providing standard 36-step high resolution gain control at 1.5dB per step. High res gain control was a $300 option on the HV-3B, so in effect the HV-3C is $300 less expensive than the HV-3B. The HV-3D cards also sport illuminated push-button switching. The HV-3B used toggles.

HV-3C is built around a beefier chassis and front plate. HV-3B employed a .100" front panel finished with black matte brushed anodizing. HV-3C employs a .350" extruded and radiused front panel finished like other Millennia products in beautiful gloss mirror black anodizing. HV-3B used plastic knobs. HV-3C uses hand-machined aluminum knobs. HV-3C power supply is beefier and electrically quieter than HV-3B, with better shielding (mostly for CE requirements).

Perhaps most importantly, the HV-3C is pre-designed to accept Millennia's new 24bit/192kHz ADC, available later in 2005 (we hope!). The ADC is a drop-in upgrade for all HV-3C chassis's.
