Delivering massive sound and superior vintage tube warmth, the BV-1 mkII Large-Diaphragm Tube Condenser Microphone from Avantone lives up to the legacy of its predecessor and then some, with a handpicked CK12-style, edge-terminated, dual-sided capsule and boutique capacitor electronics that provide enormous bottom-end and smooth, yet airy top-end. A vintage-style external PSU delivers reliable and consistent power to the BV-1 mkII over its custom 7-pin XLR cable, and it sports nine variable polar patterns, ranging from omnidirectional and cardioid to figure-8, making the Avantone BV-1 mkII a versatile studio mic that can handle nearly any sound source. Percussion, piano, strings, brass, winds, and even amplified cabinets are no problem for this microphone with convenient high-pass filter and -10 dB pad onboard switches that can adjust to most recording scenarios, and the inherent proximity effect adds body and presence to vocals, making it easy to produce world-class vocal recordings. The BV-1 mkII comes with a plethora of accessories including a wooden microphone hard case, a shockmount for rumble-free recording, a pop filter and windscreen for plosives mitigation, cables for power and connection to the PSU, and a large, durable road case that stores your mic and all of its accessories for easy transport to and from the studio. The BV-1 mkII is durable and constructed from handpicked components. Everything from the boutique capacitors, to the 34mm CK12-style capsule, to the transformer and Russian tubes are carefully selected for their sound quality.
